Whats in the word OHIO!?

11 Apr

A while ago a read a very inspiring blog about a simple word that, stuck to my mind. The Word O.H.I.O.

A teacher was asked by one of his alumni what habit or actions to take in order to “live a life without limits.”
The teacher replied that the habit or action he developed over the last 30 years was thaught by his wife.
It is O.H.I.O. It stands for “Only Handle It Once!”
This action/ habit helps against procastination, it makes one high responsive and it leaves no room for unfinished bussiness.

Many times we get ourselfs in all kind of time management and planning strategies that work, but when it comes to facing certain challenges or situations or sometimes dealing with the Now, we get stuck.
Some things we just have to deal with, right away.

So as you face life challenges, whether it is at your job, conflicts with the kids, Having to make that one phonecall that can make a difference.
Remember, to do it as if it was the only oppertunity you had and do it well!

And as my foundation, to know that I Can “Only handle things Once” my assurance is in the scripture.
“I can do All things through Christ who strengthens me” -Philipians 4:13-

Have a Blessed weekend!

“Let go…..”

28 Jun

“Even the weakest saint can experience the power of the deity of the Son of God, when he is willing to let go. But any effort to “hang on” to the least bit of our own power will only diminish the life of Jesus in us. We have to keep letting go, and slowly, but surely, the great full life of God will invade us, penetrating every part. Then Jesus will have complete and effective dominion in us, and people will take notice that we have been with Him.

Simple little prayer….

13 Jun

And Jabez called on the God of Israel, saying, Oh that thou wouldst bless me indeed, and enlarge my coast, and that thine hand might be with me, and that thou wouldst keep me from evil, that it may not grieve me! And God granted him that which he requested. ~ I Chronicles 4:10~

This simple little prayer is a prayer of Faith, Confidence & Boldness. the kind of prayer that moves the hand of God. It’s not a one time prayer but a prayer that can be used in our everyday life.

Would you dare pray this prayer? As you do… have faith, confidence & boldness and see what happens.

Share and testify,

Yours sincerely,

In the Midst of Frustration…

3 Jun
Life can be so unfair at times especially when  unpleasant things happen. Just when you thought you had the victory over something, something  else happens. Many times when you least expect  it…or am I the only one???
Unpleasant  situations are a test to see how you will react or act in the midst of your  situation. This Morning I was challenged to stay calm,… hold my peace  and hold on to every promise God has given me.
It’s easy to praise  God when life is full of blessings and all is going as planned. But what if your expectations are being cut off or your plans  fail??
What I’m realizing is that I have a choice to either let the  situation just get to me and just mess up my whole day or that I will  choose to Praise in the midst of my frustration.
I am reminded by Gods word in Psalm 34:3-4 that “His loving kindness is better than life”. So whatever life  brings me, I know that….  “He will never leave me nor forsake me”…….because
“His loving kindness is better than life itself!”
I don’t know what Life has brought you on this day! Remember, you have a  choice! What will you choose today, to be pitiful or to be powerful?  Know that as long as you are alive there is a way out, just put your  trust in God.

Keep your joy, keep praising Him, cause the word of God says “the Joy of the Lord is my strength”.

PSALM-63

Note to self……

30 May

Note to self….

Many times we start dreaming about that one thing we want to achieve. But when it comes to doing there are a few things I need to keep reminding myself.

It will hurt.

It will take time.

It will require dedication.

It will require willpower.

You will need to make healthy decisions.

It requires sacrifice.

You will need to push your body to its max.

There will be temptation to give up.

But the promise is, when you reach your goal, it will be WORTH it!

“The will of God will not take me where the grace of God will not protect me”

Like a butterfly….

28 May

Butterflies develop through metamorphosis, a Greek word that means transformation or change in shape.  Thus in many cultures the shape changing butterfly is a symbol of transformation,  transition, and resurrection associated with the soul.

Metamorphosis has a very powerful spiritual truth. This radical transformation in lifestyle is the perfect illustration of the spiritual transformation that takes place when anyone puts his or her faith in Christ and receives the gift of new life that God offers.

In Romans we are reminded not be conformed which means [not to become like minded] by the world, but that we need to be transformed by the renewing of our mind in order for us to know and understand the perfect will of God.

“And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.” ~Rom.12:2~

Lets look at these following questions that can help you to deal with transformation, ask your self

  • Is there something from my past that I am still allowing to linger in my heart and mind, even after asking God’s   forgiveness? We need to know who we are in Christ Jesus. The bible tells us that, “Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new. ~2 Corinthians 5:17~

Take Gods word at heart and ask him to give you the faith to believe and hold on to what His word tells you.  Practice  this daily, remember transformation takes time. Take captive every thought that keeps tripping you and do this regularly.

  • Am I listening to the voice of the enemy concerning a past situation, and allowing him to pull me down to a state of doubt with his lies? If that is the case make sure you fight back with the Word of God.  Write down the particular area or challenge and look up scriptures out of the word of God about that specific challenge your facing.

For example when the enemy comes and tells you you can not do anything in life or that you can not accomplish                  a certain challenge. You speak right back at him with It is written I can do all things through Christ who                   strengthens me.” ~Philipians 4:13~

So as we persevere in this Metamorphoses of emotions and changes in our journey with Christ, know that one day at a time you are becoming like that beautiful butterfly. Beautiful, transformed, changed, renewed, restored all for the glory of our Christ Jesus.

But also for this very reason, giving all diligence, add to your faith virtue, to virtue knowledge, to knowledge self-control, to self-control perseverance, to perseverance godliness, to godliness brotherly kindness, and to brotherly kindness love. For if these things are yours and abound, you will be neither barren nor unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ.

In pursuit of the Proverbs 31 woman

18 May

proverbs 31 timelinecover copy (851x315)

The Proverbs 31 woman is one of my favorite portions when talking about the values and principles of women.

For years this proverb felt like a thread to me because I felt like I would never be able to contain any of these virtues mentioned in this piece. Not so long ago I heard an awesome lady preaching at our church and I admired her: she was outgoing, kind and sweet, I admired her charisma, her boldness, her faith, the way she preached and I was looking at her and admired all these qualities she had. Then suddenly as she was preaching and telling about the wonderful journeys and encounters she had with God in her ministry, in her business and in her marriage she said with confidence and Boldness “I Am a proverbs 31 woman” .

It was like something jumped inside of me saying thats it! So what kept me busy was that the portion that made me feel overwhelmed before of being a prov.31 wife, mother or woman now became a desire to pursue these qualities one day at a time.

So I will be writing a series of my pursuit of being a proverbs 31 woman, wife & mother. So stay connected!

A sudden interruption turns into a divine appointment

15 May

Lets look at the story of the woman with the issue of blood in Mark 5: 25-34 MSG

25-29 A woman who had suffered a condition of hemorrhaging for twelve years—a long succession of physicians had treated her, and treated her badly, taking all her money and leaving her worse off than before—had heard about Jesus. She slipped in from behind and touched his robe. She was thinking to herself, “If I can put a finger on his robe, I can get well.” The moment she did it, the flow of blood dried up. She could feel the change and knew her plague was over and done with.

30 At the same moment, Jesus felt energy discharging from him. He turned around to the crowd and asked, “Who touched my robe?”

31 His disciples said, “What are you talking about? With this crowd pushing and jostling you, you’re asking, ‘Who touched me?’ Dozens have touched you!”

32-33 But he went on asking, looking around to see who had done it. The woman, knowing what had happened, knowing she was the one, stepped up in fear and trembling, knelt before him, and gave him the whole story.

34 Jesus said to her, “Daughter, you took a risk of faith, and now you’re healed and whole. Live well, live blessed! Be healed of your plague.”

Jesus was surrounded by such a great crowd of people, yet when this woman touched him, he stopped and turned around and asked “who touched me”. He felt strength leaving him and knew that this was more then just an interruption.

There was a sudden interruption that was turned into a divine appointment of healing, restoration, completeness, purity, shame was taken away, the past issue was gone instantly.

Many times this happens to us as we go about our everyday life. On our way to the bus station somebody asks you what time it is and you can see the hurt in their eyes, or at the cashier someone just needs to pay 50 more cents to cover the groceries or at school there is this person always trying to hang around you, but your just not getting it or maybe you are ignoring it.

Sometimes its not that you don’t have heart but your so occupied minding your own business that everything around you becomes normal and not a big deal.

Almost a year ago I got an experience with an sudden interruption that turned out into a divine appointment.

“At the end of our Friday night service suddenly someone called me to talk to a young girl who needed someone to talk. As I was minding my own business getting the kids ready to leave I asked this young guy if there was no one else. He insisted for me to come because there was no one else.

So to make a long story short I met this young woman who was tired of life and you could see that she was a beautiful young woman who once full of life, was left empty and it was like this was her last resource. Her last knock on the door of life. We talked briefly and she shared her heart. So still in my mind a bit distracted because it was getting later. I suggested that she would come for one of our other services since she came at the end of the service.

Then the Holy Spirit pressed on my heart to call her back…and to ask her if she had ever accepted Jesus as her Lord and savior, well I’m thankful till the day of today. This girl accepted the Lord that night and from that day God started to change her destination from a distressed young woman into a young woman who wants to live her life to help other young women who are out there still trapped and lost. “

And this is just one out of many people that we encounter each and everyday. This interruption really stuck to my mind because I had to make a choice, I had to STOP at what I was doing in order to be led into this divine appointment.

Maybe you have had experiences like this before or you might have encountered some kind of sudden interruption but did not stop. Know that Life was given to you for a reason not to enjoy it by yourself but to give Hope, Love and Peace to a dying world, someone in need of an encouragement, someone on the verge of giving up needing that someone would just say “there is Hope”.

Today is a new day of opportunity to turn a sudden interruption into a divine appointment.

Be sensitive to the Spirit as He leads you.
