A sudden interruption turns into a divine appointment

15 May

Lets look at the story of the woman with the issue of blood in Mark 5: 25-34 MSG

25-29 A woman who had suffered a condition of hemorrhaging for twelve years—a long succession of physicians had treated her, and treated her badly, taking all her money and leaving her worse off than before—had heard about Jesus. She slipped in from behind and touched his robe. She was thinking to herself, “If I can put a finger on his robe, I can get well.” The moment she did it, the flow of blood dried up. She could feel the change and knew her plague was over and done with.

30 At the same moment, Jesus felt energy discharging from him. He turned around to the crowd and asked, “Who touched my robe?”

31 His disciples said, “What are you talking about? With this crowd pushing and jostling you, you’re asking, ‘Who touched me?’ Dozens have touched you!”

32-33 But he went on asking, looking around to see who had done it. The woman, knowing what had happened, knowing she was the one, stepped up in fear and trembling, knelt before him, and gave him the whole story.

34 Jesus said to her, “Daughter, you took a risk of faith, and now you’re healed and whole. Live well, live blessed! Be healed of your plague.”

Jesus was surrounded by such a great crowd of people, yet when this woman touched him, he stopped and turned around and asked “who touched me”. He felt strength leaving him and knew that this was more then just an interruption.

There was a sudden interruption that was turned into a divine appointment of healing, restoration, completeness, purity, shame was taken away, the past issue was gone instantly.

Many times this happens to us as we go about our everyday life. On our way to the bus station somebody asks you what time it is and you can see the hurt in their eyes, or at the cashier someone just needs to pay 50 more cents to cover the groceries or at school there is this person always trying to hang around you, but your just not getting it or maybe you are ignoring it.

Sometimes its not that you don’t have heart but your so occupied minding your own business that everything around you becomes normal and not a big deal.

Almost a year ago I got an experience with an sudden interruption that turned out into a divine appointment.

“At the end of our Friday night service suddenly someone called me to talk to a young girl who needed someone to talk. As I was minding my own business getting the kids ready to leave I asked this young guy if there was no one else. He insisted for me to come because there was no one else.

So to make a long story short I met this young woman who was tired of life and you could see that she was a beautiful young woman who once full of life, was left empty and it was like this was her last resource. Her last knock on the door of life. We talked briefly and she shared her heart. So still in my mind a bit distracted because it was getting later. I suggested that she would come for one of our other services since she came at the end of the service.

Then the Holy Spirit pressed on my heart to call her back…and to ask her if she had ever accepted Jesus as her Lord and savior, well I’m thankful till the day of today. This girl accepted the Lord that night and from that day God started to change her destination from a distressed young woman into a young woman who wants to live her life to help other young women who are out there still trapped and lost. “

And this is just one out of many people that we encounter each and everyday. This interruption really stuck to my mind because I had to make a choice, I had to STOP at what I was doing in order to be led into this divine appointment.

Maybe you have had experiences like this before or you might have encountered some kind of sudden interruption but did not stop. Know that Life was given to you for a reason not to enjoy it by yourself but to give Hope, Love and Peace to a dying world, someone in need of an encouragement, someone on the verge of giving up needing that someone would just say “there is Hope”.

Today is a new day of opportunity to turn a sudden interruption into a divine appointment.

Be sensitive to the Spirit as He leads you.

Detox for the soul….

6 May

This week is an exciting week of Prayer & fasting, I will make it my priority to focus on my Spiritual nourishment.

So in other words it wont be as much a focus on what I can’t eat or shouldn’t eat but I will focus on how I can fill my life with more of God. When it’s fasting time it’s important to know the purpose and the goal.

My major reason for fasting is for personal revival, revival for our nation, but praying for our own needs and interceding for others are also important reasons to fast and pray.

Bring your personal needs before the Lord, intercede for your loved ones, your friends, your church, your pastor, your community, your nation, and the world.

Benefits of fasting?

  • Fasting is a biblical way to truly humble yourself in the sight of God (Pslm.35:15)
  • Fasting and prayer restores the loss of the “first love” in your relationship with Christ
  • Fasting restores your spiritual condition, as you depend on The Holy Spirit you will be able to understand the voice of God clearer, you become spiritually stronger
  • Fasting transforms your prayer life into a richer deeper and more personal experience.

“If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and will heal their land.” –II Chronicles 7:14-

So as we are in this journey of fasting and prayer stay pending for more tips and ways to effectively go through this time of Feeding our Soul.

God Bless you, from my heart to yours,

Mireille
